The following statements have been endorsed by the ADDP Board of Directors. For more information on these or any issues specific to the delivery and provision of supports to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities, please contact ADDP staff. Rate Reform ADDP supports the implementation of Chapter 257 to achieve fair and adequate rates based on real costs.
Sufficient Funding of Support Services ADDP believes that “custodial care” of the individuals supported by our members is not sufficient. Government must fund community-based service providers in a way that allows for quality supports that provide opportunities and options for individuals.
Provider Workforce ADDP recognizes human services staff are a vital asset to our member organizations. ADDP believes staff have a right to a fair living wage with fair cost of living increases, affordable benefits, education, training and career longevity.
Closure of State Institutions ADDP supports the implementation of the "Community First" Olmstead Plan for Massachusetts, and advocates for the closure of expenses, outdated state schools. The cost and provision of institutional care for those living in facilities should not be protected at the expense of a loss or reduction in services to those who live in the community.
