Who We Are

The Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers (ADDP) offers proactive, state-wide leadership to improve the social, political and economic well-being of community organizations in Massachusetts that provide services and support to people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities and their families.

The Association is made up of 96 community organizations from across Massachusetts that provide services and supports to more than 32,000 people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. The Association began in 1986 as the Mental Retardation Providers Council.

The membership of the Association holds more than 70 percent of the Department of Mental Retardation's community residential, day and family support contracts. Members also provide Medicaid-funded day habilitation services and Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission- funded supports.

What We Do for the Membership

The ADDP provides members with the following:

 

Timely communications with information that matters

  • Regular electronic communication from Executive Director Gary Blumenthal that gives members the latest news on the state budget, administrative actions,and other information of importance
  • Weekly electronic mailing of a compilation of news clippings on the field from across the state
  • Quarterly membership meetings

Contact with decision-makers

  • Regular meetings with DMR and other administration officials
  • Access to legislative leadership

2008 Membership Dues

Membership dues are for the calendar year and prorated for new members joining during the year. The dues are based on the total developmental disabilities services budget of the agency. This includes DMR contracts, day habilitation programs, employment, residential, and all other developmental disabilities funding. Thank you for your support of the Association.
