The School for Global Inclusion and Social Development, UMass Boston in collaboration with ADDP, will be starting its second cohort for the Contemporary Practices in DD Leadership and Management Program this fall. This program builds knowledge and skills of professionals to prepare them for success in senior executive positions.

"This course is instrumental to developing a better understanding of the global and executive functions of a human services organization," said Bonnie Hungler, who took the course last year. Hungler works at Bridgewell, an agency serving over 6,000 individuals in Massachusetts.

The curriculum combines face-to-face and online instruction, and uses both theory-driven knowledge and real-world scenarios. Students will learn how to position their organization to seek opportunities by learning more about the DD field in general as well as the operations within their own organizations including: finance, governance, marketing, coaching, strategic planning and organizational change, program management, DD public policy, diversity, and information technology.

"The Leadership and Management course has given me practical tools and training to become a more intentional and effective leader," said Joel Costanzo of Triangle Inc, an agency based in Malden.

If you know of anyone who could benefit from this program, please direct them the Certificate Program's website, which contains the program and course descriptions, FAQs, and application form.
