ADDP’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Vision and Mission Statement

The long-running history of racism and social injustice in the United States, recent incidents of discrimination and violence, and the national calls demanding justice have prompted ADDP to reflect on its role as one that promotes public policy in an environment that is impacted by race, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

ADDP is committed to raising awareness of racial and social injustice and to working with member agencies to advance solutions aimed at dismantling all forms of oppression, hate, and violence, which affect our communities.

ADDP values the principles that:

  1. All people should be treated with respect and dignity.
  2. The diversity of ADDP’s member agencies, their workforce, and the individuals they support should be honored.
  3. Everyone deserves to live in and belong to a community absent of racism, oppression, inequity, and acts of violence.
  4. Individuals served by member agencies and their staff will be provided with equitable opportunities to thrive and make positive contributions to the community.
  5. Embrace, support, and promote businesses and organizations that are owned by women; people who are Black and Brown, Indigenous, or of various ethnic, international, and religious backgrounds; LGBTQI+; people with disabilities; and other historically undervalued or marginalized individuals.

To that end, ADDP will:

  1. Build awareness by celebrating diverse holidays and important DEI events as outlined in ADDP’s Annual DEI Communication Plan.
  2. Offer DEI training and/or awareness opportunities, such as:

    - Hosting relevant quarterly engagements or events

    - Hosting an annual event around June drawing a DEI leader as a keynote speaker

    - Providing a track or workshop session at the annual ADDP LEAD! Conference.
  3. Compile, maintain, and share a membership resource list of materials on diversity, equity, race, and inclusion.

DEI Circle of Leadership Partners

ADDP's “DEI Circle of Leadership" partners is a list of members who support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within their organizations and communities. It is not required to have an agency DEI initiative to join as a DEI partner, but ADDP asks for sign-on agencies to, at minimum, have a plan to start one if they do not already have one. Contact Mandy at mandynichols@addp.org if you have questions or would like to become a partner.
