Community Inclusion Specialist - Delta Projects - Dedham, MA

Delta Projects, Inc. is hiring a Community Inclusion Specialist to work in our Community Based Day Supports Program. The program supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, who may also experience behavioral and other life challenges.

As a Community Inclusion Specialist, you will make a difference in the life of someone with a disability by supporting them as they develop skills and work toward personal goals/independence through a wide variety of skill-building, personal enrichment, social, recreational, volunteer and paid employment activities both at our Dedham headquarters and out in the field.

On a typical day you will work with a small group of individuals. Your day could include teaching a cooking class, volunteering at a non-profit, working for a local employer, taking a field trip to a museum, leading a group game, doing a craft project, going to the gym or library, walking at a state park, etc. You will be required to complete documentation, participate in meetings, and work as part of a team.

To be successful in this position you should be someone who works well with people, is discerning and creative, is not afraid to face challenges, is patient and flexible, can be responsible for others, and can represent Delta Projects and the individuals we support in a professional manner.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
Relevant work experience.
Current, US driver’s license valid for at least one year, and reliable car with insurance.
Successful completion of Delta provided trainings in First Aid, CPR, non-violent physical interventions (Safety Care), behavior management, medication administration (MAP), etc.
Professional verbal and written communication skills; ability to function as an ambassador for Delta Projects within the community and maintain a professional presentation in physical appearance and communication style.

All candidates must be able to successfully pass CORI, fingerprinting, driving record and reference checks.
