Direct Care Support for Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Home - The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod - Marshfield, MA

We are a nonprofit organization that has helped people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families for more than 50 years. The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod empowers and supports people with disabilities and their families to belong, contribute, and thrive.

We are excited to be opening a new facility in Marshfield, MA and are looking for Full-Time, Part-Time and Relief Direct Care Support staff. The Direct Care Support staff will be supporting individuals we serve whom live in an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) home. This home is staffed 24/7, 365 days a year, working some holidays and every-other weekend rotation is a requirement for employment.

The Direct Care Support staff will:

Establish positive, professional, objective, and supportive working relationships with individuals being served.
Engage in activities with individuals that assist them in living independently in their community.
Depending on an individual’s service plan (ISP), support may include companionship, assistance with personal hygiene, functional mobility, and/or coaching on life skills for living as independently as possible.
Transport and provide direct support on community outings.
Assist in light household tasks as meal preparation, laundry & shopping.

Excellent verbal and written skills.
Proven success developing positive working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Staff are required to complete appropriate documentation to ensure services are being delivered.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and must be able to pass criminal background checks.
CPR/First Aide (Training will be provided)
MAP (Training will be provided)
Availability to attend required three day orientation that takes place Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. 9am-3pm (Due to COVID 19 circumstances, this orientaiton may require flexibility to complete, for example, some trainings may be completed remotely)

Physical Effort:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, sit, reach, and climb stairs. Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or the use of two-person lift. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a copier & printer. Ability to assist persons served with tasks of daily living.
