Grant Writer - Center for Human Development (CHD) - Springfield, MA

CHD is seeking an experienced Grant Writer to support its business development efforts.

Based in Springfield, MA, CHD is a $110 million organization that provides behavioral health and human services in Western Massachusetts and Connecticut. With an extraordinary 46-year reputation for quality, innovative services, and fiscal stability, CHD employs 1,600 dedicated professional and paraprofessional staff. CHD operates a broad range of third party reimbursed, contract based, and community-supported programs all dedicated to helping people in need.

The Grant Writer responsibilities include researching and identifying new funding sources, evaluating grant opportunities to support the programmatic and business needs of the agency, developing and writing large foundation and government grants, engaging program staff to support the grant submission, and coordinating responses within the agency to various grant requests.

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree strongly preferred; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated knowledge of the human service and behavioral health delivery systems in Massachusetts and Connecticut and their funding, as well as federal funding mechanisms for services; capacity to use technological tools to gather and understand data; strong project management and time management skills; experience coordinating grant writing processes to include programmatic content, fiscal viability, and other administrative supports; experience writing grants that address the integration of primary care, behavioral health and social services; experience writing state and federal grants including responses to Massachusetts and Connecticut health, public health and human service departments (DMH, DCH, DHCD, DMHAS, SAMSHA, BSAS, etc.); and the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
