Franklin County / Greenfield Advocate & Per Diem Advocates:
Offer support and group facilitation in our Springfield and Holyoke Community Centers; Work with fellow team members and community to care for and maintain the space; Support growth and facilitation of the community.
Required Qualifications: Investment in the value of peer support and alternatives to conventional clinical systems; Ability to balance a variety of needs in an active center; Your own experience living through trauma, psychiatric diagnosis, homelessness, problems with substances and/or a variety of other life-interrupting challenges; Understanding and commitment to examining and undoing systemic oppression related to racism, gender, psychiatric diagnosis, etc.
Preferred Qualifications: Established residence in Hampden County and familiarity with local resources; Experience offering peer support and familiarity with peer support values and approaches; Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/ASL)/Bicultural.
A Plus: Familiarity with c/s/x, mad, peer, recovery, and/or human rights movements.
Intentional Peer Support, and/or other trainings relevant to peer-to-peer support (Hearing
Voices, Alternatives to Suicide, etc.); Familiarity with harm reduction approaches.
PART-TIME: $19 to $21 per hour based on completion of core trainings and bilingual/bicultural experience (English/Spanish or English/ASL), Hours: 10 to 18 hours per week.
PER DIEM POSITIONS: Available, filling in as needed when team members are on vacation, out sick, Per Diem pay rate: $18 to $19 per hour. Hours: As needed.
