We are seeking a motivated and experienced leader to serve as the Assistant Director of Residential Services and support oversight of our DDS-licensed residential programs.
Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Residential Services provides operational, administrative, and regulatory compliance support to the Residential Services Director in overseeing multiple DDS-licensed residential programs serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and will oversee one
This role ensures that individuals receive safe, consistent, and person-centered supports that promote independence, dignity, health, safety, and community inclusion in alignment with Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) regulations and agency standards.
The Assistant Director works closely with Program Managers, residential staff, clinical teams, and organizational leadership to support day-to-day operations, staffing stability, regulatory compliance, and service quality across multiple residential homes.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Program Support
· Work closely with the Residential Services Director (RSD) to support oversight of residential programs across multiple DDS-licensed sites
· Provide leadership guidance and operational support to Program Managers and residential staff
· Assist in ensuring consistent implementation of person-centered services and ISP goals across all homes
· Participate in leadership meetings, operational planning, and program coordination
· Support continuity of services and operational consistency across all residential locations
Operational Oversight & Health & Safety
· Support monitoring of daily residential program operations across multiple sites
· Assist with staffing coverage including program managers on leave, scheduling coordination, and resolution of urgent program needs
· Ensure residential environments remain safe, stable, clean, and compliant with agency standards
· Monitor health, safety, and service delivery practices to ensure quality care for individuals served
· Respond to program incidents and assist with timely follow-up and resolution
DDS Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
· Support compliance with DDS regulations (115 CMR), licensing requirements, and agency policies
· Assist with preparation for DDS audits, inspections, and licensing reviews
· Monitor incident reporting systems and ensure timely documentation, investigation, and follow-up
· Support implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and required service documentation
· Assist with corrective action plans and ongoing compliance monitoring
Staff Development & Supervision Support
· Assist with onboarding, training, and coaching of residential staff
· Support Program Managers with supervision, performance management, and staff development
· Reinforce expectations related to documentation, compliance, and person-centered practices
· Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth
· Assist in addressing staff performance concerns and operational challenges
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
· Maintain clear communication with Program Managers, Residential Services Director, families, guardians, and external partners
· Serve as a liaison with DDS, clinical providers, support coordinators, and service stakeholders
· Support resolution of program-level concerns in collaboration with leadership
· Ensure timely communication of incidents, operational updates, and program needs
Administrative & Operational Support
· Assist with tracking staffing, compliance documentation, and program reporting
· Support implementation of agency policies and residential service procedures
· Contribute to internal audits, quality assurance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives under Victory 2.0
· Assist with monitoring operational systems that support program efficiency and compliance
QualificationsEducation
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or related field required
· Master's degree preferred
Experience
· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in residential or developmental disability (I/DD) services
· Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in residential or community-based programs
· Experience working with DDS-funded programs strongly preferred
· Strong knowledge of residential compliance, incident reporting, and person-centered planning

Additional Requirements
· Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and reliable transportation
· Ability to travel between residential program sites
· Successful CORI/SORI, background checks, and reference verification
· Flexibility to respond to urgent program needs and operational priorities as required
Additional Qualifications
Are you currently CPR certified?
Are you currently MAP (Medication Administration Program) certified?
If you are not currently MAP certified, are you willing and able to obtain MAP certification within 90 days of hire?
Work Environment & Expectations
This position supports DDS-licensed residential programs and requires flexibility, responsiveness, and strong coordination across multiple residential sites. The Assistant Director plays a key leadership support role in ensuring operational stability, regulatory compliance, and high-quality, person-centered services.
