Disability Budget Priorities Plus over 1000 signatures to be shared with Governor Baker's Office
On Tuesday, November 22, 21016, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grand Staircase, 2nd floor, in the Massachusetts State House, ADDP Members will be holding a public event and press opportunity to share ADDP's FY 18 Budget priorities with Governor Charlie Baker's staff.
Over 1600 Commonwealth citizens, including self advocates, direct support professionals, family members and others have signed letters/emails sent to Governor Baker and Lt. Gov. Politio.
Five large posters sharing the names of over 1000 citizens asking that ADDP Budget Priorities be a top priority for the Governor's Budget will be presented to John Tapley, Constituent Services Director, on behalf of Governor Baker
The public is invited.
ADDP's FY Budget Priorities include:
Line Item 5920-2025.................DDS Day and Employment
- Fund at $233 million to reflect increased costs associated with closing sheltered workshops and moving people into more staff intensive community based day supports and supported employment
- Fulfill Blueprint Implementation Recommendations
Line Item 5920-5000.........................DDS Turning 22
- Fund at $22 million addressing significant size of graduating class
Line Item 5920-2000..........................DDS Residential
- Fund DDS Residential at $1.3 B to maintain FFP, provide participants with privacy and security, and promote Shared Living
- Cost Share with providers the designation and employment of Community Integration Specialists
