Position Overview:

As the Assistant Director of Employment Services at The Arc of Greater Brockton, you will have a major role in assisting individuals to enhance their quality of life through integrated employment opportunities. This role focuses on group employment opportunities including our company run Redemption Center and Lawn Care Services, our offsite contracted employment opportunities, and cleaning jobs around the facility.

This role will be responsible for scheduling individual’s shifts for employment, overseeing business operations of the Redemption Center and Lawn Care Services, providing training for individuals and staff, and assisting the program director to implement strategies that improve the quality of services we deliver.

To thrive in this position a candidate must have interpersonal skills that allow them to effectively teach and guide individuals to succeed in employment settings. This candidate should also have organizational skills that will allow them to communicate scheduling changes, oversee in collaboration with the fiscal department the financial and billing procedures for our company run businesses, and facilitate individual’s schedules giving them opportunities to reach their employment goals.

Essential Duties:

  • Networking with employer and community organizations to explain The Arc of Greater Brockton’s "Employment First" mission and to learn about potential employment opportunities.
  • Represent the agency at employment related meetings and on employment related committees.
  • Assist job development program as needed by providing one-to-one job development billable hours, understanding each individuals service plan, providing job coaching as needed in the community, and communicating with the job development staff around individuals employment goals.
  • Facilitate opportunities for individuals to reach their employment goals based on their personal skills and interests.
  • Manage schedules for individuals and staff for offsite contracted employment, and cleaning jobs around the facility.
  • Assist Director in creating, identifying, and providing trainings for individuals and staff for any Redemption Center, Lawn Care Services, off site contracted, or cleaning trainings as needed.
  • Communicate with supervisors of any off site group contracted employment situations to alert of any changes or additional supports needed.
  • Facilitate the on-boarding process for new individuals joining the group supported employment program.
  • Analyze and make necessary changes to daily operations procedures to improve overall quality of services.
  • Site supervision of job coaches and job placement referrals.
  • Provide job training to new staff that will be supervising individuals in an employment setting.
  • Assist director in ensuring accuracy of data tracking by training staff, monitoring database, and making changes as needed to improve quality of data.
  • Assist the Director in staff reviews and supervisory matters as requested by the Director.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Director as applicable when the Director is unable to do so.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Director.

Redemption Center and Lawn Care Services Specific

  • Manage schedules for individuals and staff for the Redemption Center and Lawn Care Services.
  • Monitor all financial transactions, cash-outs of the Redemption Center register, and billing procedures to ensure accuracy.
  • Schedule deliveries and pickups for box truck in the Redemption Center.
  • Maintain inventory including redemption supplies, lawn care supplies, cleaning supplies, and all other employment related supplies as needed.
  • Oversee and ensure accuracy of all personal and business accounts held with the Redemption Center, including counting, payouts, and communications.
  • Communicate with Lawn Care Services customers to schedule services, provide estimates, and respond to needs.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or 5 years of field work experience in a related area (i.e. assisting people to find employment, business management, employment, human services, etc.) or a combination of education and experience equivalent to the above.
  • Computer literate, preferable in Microsoft Office for documentation and recordkeeping skills.
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot computer issues.
  • Must have the ability to learn and comprehend new computer programs.

The qualified candidate must complete a satisfactory background check, including CORI.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Open to change and ability to work collaboratively
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and autism.
  • Previous experience working for a not-for profit and/or health and human services organization
