Chief Operations Officer - Fidelity House CRC - Lawrence, MA

Fidelity House CRC is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting people with developmental disabilities and their families. We are proud to offer 29 community residences throughout the Merrimack Valley area along with specialized services across 70 cities and towns in Northeastern Massachusetts. Our goal is to help children, teens and adults with disabilities such as Autism and Down Syndrome to achieve the richest and fullest lives possible. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operations Officer will manage a team of Program Services’ Vice Presidents responsible for leading key departments within the agency. This role will be responsible for the development and execution of established goals with the Executive Management Teams. The COO will maintain a high-performance environment that fosters quality services, excellent consumer and stakeholder satisfaction, and enhanced employee morale, while ensuring active and visible representation of FHCRC internally and within the larger business community, developing partnerships beneficial to FHCRC’s mission and operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Public Health or Human Services is strongly preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Psychology or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of business management experience at the senior level, across a range of business disciplines, preferably in human service delivery working with individuals with disabilities other life challenges
  • Strong business acumen and experience with operational processes; experience managing budgets
  • Experience managing in a union environment is preferred
  • Proficiency in technology platforms such as Awards, Microsoft Office and Zoom
  • The ability to think strategically, listen well and communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Must have strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to build trust among a wide range of constituents
  • Knowledge of state funding agency systems, policies and regulations, as well as OQE and CARF accreditation process
  • Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of 1 year of driving experience
  • Regular and predictable attendance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise Program Services’ Vice President’s and other management positions as assigned
  • Ensure continued sustainability of program services and, where applicable, the growth of existing services and development of new services
  • Direct and ensure compliance with all licensing, certification and accreditation processes
  • Direct and approve the preparation and modification of department budgets, ensuring positive financial performance
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with funding and referral sources, peer organizations and other key community stakeholders.
  • Participate in trade association committees and initiatives such as ADDP, and Mass Providers Council
  • Seek and facilitate continuous improvements in quality standards, professionalism, and performance efficiencies
  • Direct and participate in policy and procedure development, revision and implementation
  • Participate in the evaluation and planning process for new business development as well as partnership and merger opportunities
  • Engage individuals, family members and other stakeholders to ensure quality service delivery and response to service enhancement opportunities
