GENERAL SUMMARY

  • Lead and perform duties related to the facilities and security efforts of the company. Perform a variety of duties involved in the repair and maintenance of buildings, facilities, and grounds. Ensure that the company’s physical assets are maintained in a way that provides a clean, safe, and effective environment that meets the company’s programs, mission, vision, and core values. Ensure compliance with applicable building, fire, and emergency codes, as well as all regulatory standards.
  • Responsibilities include maintenance, space planning, design and construction, landscaping, and leasing for all Agency locations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*

  • Procure, review and compare quotes for necessary contracted work.
  • Enter and track all work orders in electronic facilities software.
  • Manage, supervise and coordinate contractor work for all third-party vendors (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, general contractors, etc.).
  • Plan and oversee all building work and /or renovations.
  • Respond appropriately to facility emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
  • Ensure safe work practices are in place and consistently followed by all facilities, maintenance staff, and sub-contractors.
  • Provide oversight to Agency safety policies and procedures according to all licensure and accreditation standards including local, state and federal OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, fire and emergency codes, regulatory and other required regulations.
  • Leads the Safety Committee and Program Safety Officers, to ensure compliance with all safety requirements, provide reports and make recommendations for safety trainings.
  • Provide guidance for all departments in addressing and rectifying potentially unsafe work conditions or practices.
  • Develop objectives that meet quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Establish and monitor a preventive maintenance program that will promote a sense of well-being and esthetic appeal for residents, program participants, and staff.
  • All other maintenance functions as required.
  • Serves as a mandated reporter of suspected cases of abuse and/or neglect to the Disabled Persons Protection Committee (DPPC).
  • Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Undergraduate degree in business management or related experience preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ progressive experience in the field of facilities management.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and equipment, as well as familiarity with permitting processes and procurement.
  • Strong working knowledge of all licensure and accreditation standards as well as local, state and federal OSHA requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office
  • Self-starter and team player.
  • Must be organized and provide deliverables in support of project plans.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints.
  • Ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools.
  • Must be able to travel to various work-site locations on demand. Valid driver’s license in the state of Massachusetts.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work outside in any weather condition.
  • Ability to travel regularly between sites and be available to respond to facility emergencies
