Hiring Bonus - Up to $1,000 for direct support positions!

The hiring bonus for direct support staff is prorated based on standard hours.

50% paid after satisfactory completion of 90 days with 90-day review and 50% paid at 6 months with satisfactory performance.

  • Cape Abilities is a valued influential member of the Cape Cod community, where program participants live, work and volunteer, and forge meaningful partnerships with individuals and businesses. We also seek to create or promote partnerships with various local civic, social, business and educational groups in order to maximize secular and social opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Cape Abilities Programs

  • Cape Abilities is licensed and certified by the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and is approved to provide services for clients of MassHealth and the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC), as well as AbilityOne/SourceAmerica.
  • The Day Habilitation Program provides therapeutic-based activities to enhance wellness and independence for individuals who need more structure in order to succeed. As a community-committed program, it offers a variety of volunteer and social activities as well as physical exercise, arts and cultural events that are planned to meet each individual’s service plan goals. Physical and Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language supports are integrated into the daily program offerings.
  • Cape Abilities’ Community Based Day Supports Program (CBDS) provides a range of supports and training in order to provide a springboard to successful employment and meaningful community involvement through assessment of participants’ skills, needs and interests and exploration of a range of community opportunities including volunteerism, internships, job training placements and community classes that match participants’ areas of specific interest.
  • Community Employment Services is a comprehensive program to assist individuals in applying for jobs at businesses throughout the community and then, once they are placed in positions, provides the necessary transportation and supports so that they can keep their jobs and be valued employees. As part of this program, individuals may be placed in one of the agency’s four innovative Social Enterprises or they may have the opportunity to participate in its educational/vocational program operated in collaboration with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute.
  • Pre-Employment Training Services Program is focused on increasing the organization’s collaboration with all local high schools to provide selected transition-age youth with vocational assessment supports and community job experience through paid internships before they leave high school.
  • Cape Abilities’ Residential Services include DDS and ABI/MFP Adult Long Term Residential Services, MRC Statewide Head Injury Program Residential Supports, Community Living/Individual Supports, Adult Family Care (AFC), Adult Shared Living and Agency with Choice.
  • The Transportation Program operates through contracts with the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority. Participants in day and employment programs are provided with transportation to and from their daily program, employment, and community resources and activities.
