Opportunities for Inclusion is a 66-year-old human services agency. Our mission is to serve individuals with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities, frail elders, and their families. Our programs promote independence, inclusion, self-advocacy, cultural diversity and the overall dignity and welfare of our participants and staff. We serve 300+ individuals and their families annually in Waltham and surrounding areas.
Manager of Marketing & Development
Responsibilities:
The Manager of Marketing and Development supports Opportunities for Inclusion in all facets of marketing and development. S/he works to promote a positive and progressive image of the agency; markets the agency's mission, programs and services; and develops and stewards event sponsors and donors.
Responsibilities include implementation of the Annual Development Plan; fundraising and other agency events; grant research, writing and administration; and all external and internal communications.
1. Marketing & Development
- Follow Annual Development Plan with financial goals
2. Media & Public Relations
- Create and update all electronic and print media (website, email marketing, social media, agency newsletter and staff newsletter)
- Liaison to newspaper, cable tv and radio, as needed
- Represent the agency in the community
- Attend community events (Chamber of Commerce, Waltham Rotary, etc.)
3. Events
- Plan and implement agency events - Annual Harvest Breakfast and other fundraisers, Annual Meeting and other events as needed.
4. Administration
- Maintain Donor Management/CRM system.
- Direct Administrative Assistant in projects (mailings, fundraising/event activities and other needs).
- Oversee any development staff, student interns and volunteers as needed.
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Supervises: May supervise a Grant Writer and Marketing Assistant, student intern(s) and volunteers (as applicable).
Qualifications:
- Must have exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills.
- Professional appearance and presentation.
- Ability to meet demands of agency in often fast-paced, demanding work environment.
- B.A. Degree with a minimum of three to five years in a management position; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Previous experience in development and marketing for a nonprofit agency.
- Experience with grant writing.
- Ability and flexibility to work with a variety of people in different capacities, including individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills. Self-starterand independent worker.
- Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.
- Driver's license and car helpful.
- Flexible work schedule (i.e., occasional evening and weekend hours as needed).
- Ability to organize, schedule and prioritize multiple tasks, many with deadlines.
- Ability to maintain website content, experience with desktop publishing and email marketing.
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management system such as Boomerang.
- Strong computer skills.
Work Environment: In person, within Opportunities for Inclusion's facility and community settings.
Work Schedule: 40-hour work week; with occasional additional evening or weekend hours as needed.
