GENERAL SUMMARY

The Farm Store Associate works with the Retail Manager, in all aspects of farm store customer service and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*

  • Greets customers and provides information on sales items; informs customers of the Agency’s mission.
  • Restocks produce and grocery items
  • Processes customer transactions on POS system
  • Prices products, and performs regular inventory checks
  • Makes sure all signage is up to date on a daily basis
  • Refreshes product displays
  • Mists produce as needed
  • Faces products and checks sell by dates
  • Maintains clean and organized sales floor for displaying items.
  • Works with job coaches to provide job training and mentorship for the individuals we serve
  • Serves as mandated reporter for suspected cases of abuse and/or neglect to the Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC)

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May assist with end of day banking procedures
  • May assist with agency events
  • Performs additional duties, as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS*

  • Frequent walking, standing, bending and twisting
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
  • Ability to work with sharp instruments/tools
  • Exposure to the elements

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior retail or farm experience preferred.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form with coworkers and supported individuals and read fluently.
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of Massachusetts required.
  • Successful completion of all state and Agency mandated trainings required upon hire.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ability to teach and model occupational tasks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • No supervisory responsibility.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to move, lift and carry items weighing 35-40 pounds.
  • Exposure to the elements
