Description:

OPEN MINDS founder and chief executive officer, Monica E. Oss will provide this training on national service delivery trends affecting ADDP members across the Commonwealth. This one-day event will feature a panel discussion of providers focused on areas of health care related to intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), and the role of data analytics and health care information technology for improving long-term services and supports (LTSS). Various factors that agency's should consider in their future strategic planning efforts will be reviewed.

Purpose/Background:

The role of LTSS providers in health plans is changing dramatically. In an already turbulent market, executives of agencies providing LTSS services need to remain informed and plan for change in order to succeed. Events like this training are a great way for LTSS providers and other industry participants to gain the insights and advice of industry leaders to ensure their organizations remain competitive and sustainable.

During her presentation, Ms. Oss will provide an overview of health and human services market trends and explore the changing health plan perspectives on managed care and LTSS. This session will highlight:

• Current U.S. spending on long-term services and supports;
• The increasing use of managed care financing and the trends in health plans such as value-based contracting;
• Health plan approaches to LTSS system optimization;
• The changing role of I/DD providers in health plans; and
• Emerging issues for the I/DD field.

Monica E. Oss, M.S. is the founder of OPEN MINDS.
