ADDP is pleased to provide its members with a custom monthly calendar that depicts important facts regarding the human services industry. We are using this calendar to highlight important facts and data the impact provider members across Massachusetts. This calendar is distributed on a monthly basis to Massachusetts legislators in order to build awareness around human services issues. As an added bonus, we also list the birthdays of Massachusetts' legislators.

This calendar also allows ADDP to highlight a fantastic piece of original art created by individuals who receive services by ADDP member providers. Each month, we display the art on the calendar and provide more about the artist below. Please enjoy learning more about our featured artists.
May 2025's Featured Artist
Artist: Stephanie C.
Piece: "Flowers & Bees"
Agency: Viability
Stehpanie C. has been a member of Viability for the past 10 years. She enjoys hanging out with family and friends. Hobbies include watching her favorite TV shows, making jewelry, and talking with her friends. Stephanie also enjoys getting her nails and hair done. Stephanie’s favorite food is Chinese.
April 2025's Featured Artist
Artist: Jessica Vohs
Piece: "Blooming"
Agency: The Arc of Bristol County
Jessica Vohs, born in 1971 with cerebral palsy, is a practicing artist in Brookline, MA. Despite severe disabilities that affect her movement and ability to communicate, Jessica has been exhibiting and selling her work since 1995. Because of her inability to speak, art and poetry became her voice. Due to the fierce advocacy of her mother, Jessica graduated high school and went on to receive her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
She is represented by the Kaji Aso Studio and has received several awards for her dedication to the arts. She has worked in various mediums, including watercolor, poetry, and fiber arts. In 2021, she co-lead a collaborative mural project titled “Blooming,” that brought a 12 foot canvas and gallons of paint to individuals living in a residential care facility. Jessica continues to give back to her community by donating her work to raise money for organizations that support people with disabilities.
March 2025's Featured Artist
Artist: Matthew Bowen
Piece: "Chevron"
Agency: New England Village
Matthew has been an artist most of his life. He began formal drawing and painting decades ago during New England Village (NEV) art classes with Art Director, Melanie Rose-Zagwyn. Although while painting Matthew prefers the solitude of a quiet art studio, he frequently enjoys brief conversations regarding his busy schedule and inquiries about living life safely.
Matthew works at the Rustic Marlin, a local wood sign/handmade decor shop. Matthew also takes pride in his work at the Sheingold building at New England Village – putting a clean shine to the windows. In his free time, Matthew enjoys growing a vegetable garden and is an avid walker; he often spearheads intentional walks along the NEV path and participates in fundraiser walks within the larger community.
Inspiration for Matthew’s work, “Chevron” (quadriptych) comes from the historically iconic logo of Chevron/Texaco gas corporation. Matthew often enjoys drawing and painting iconic logos, symbols or identifiable utilitarian objects such as farm and garden tools, antique firearms and, modes of transportation.
February 2025's Featured Artist
Artist: Steve Light
Piece: "Heart"
Agency: Riverside Industries
Steve has a wonderful sense of humor and delights in joking around with friends. His artwork is likewise bright, bold, and interesting. Steve takes his time completing his artwork (mostly drawings with marker), meticulously adding the lines and colors to his abstract designs. Steve's artwork is often reminiscent of memories, movies, or activities he enjoys. Every design is completely unique.
Though new challenges can be difficult for Steve, he has found some new artistic interests by exploring different mediums. He has dabbled in beading, needle felting, and photography all while maintaining his own creative style. Meeting Steve and experiencing his joyful art will bring a smile to your face.
January 2025's Featured Artist
Artist: Miriam Roche
Piece: "Secret Bridge"
Agency: Cooperative for Human Services
Miriam is a 73 year old woman. Miriam began her interest with art work at the age of 11. Both of Miriam's parents were also talented with art. Miriam would place her art work in various Flea Markets. At the age of 65, Miriam suffered a stroke, she could no longer use her right hand. Miriam practices daily with her left hand using markers & canvas or adult coloring books. Miriam is very excited to be going to the Van Gogh Expo in two weeks. Miriam also works on crafts with her OT once a week.
