About ADDP

Community

Individuals with disabilities deserve the opportunity to be included in their community, living and working alongside people with and without disabilities. One cannot fully participate in their community if they are separated or segregated from others. Everyone deserves to be treated fair and respectful for their abilities, without being defined by their “dis”abilities. ADDP members provide supports and services that empower individuals and grant them the opportunity to be meaningfully participants in their community, to the fullest extent of their potential.

Advocacy

As the voice of our members, ADDP has helped ensure disability issues are given a front seat when legislators and the Governor determine the future of the Commonwealth. Working on behalf of the developmental/intellectual disability and brain injury services providers that ADDP represents, we make certain all of the state’s leaders understand the impact of state policy upon our sector. ADDP is respected and admired by members of both parties, in the Legislative and Executive branches, because of the extraordinary work of its members.

Information

When decisions are being discussed in the State and Federal governments that affect the disability community, it’s vital to be informed and prepared. Regular meetings and collaboration with decision-makers at DDS, MRC, MassHealth and other administration officials, help ADDP and our members become heavily informed and influential on the issues affecting our community. Through our consistent communication with our members, issue-driven committees, professional development workshops, and work with expert consultants, ADDP is THE SOURCE for receiving news, information, and education on timely issues.
